Have you ever wanted fresh yeast rolls but did not want to go to a restaurant, wait for a table and then drive back home wanting more?  You can make them at home.  But you’ve heard that it’s too much trouble and takes what seems like forever?  I came across this recipe somewhere, and I forget where,  that does not take all day and uses very few ingredients.  Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons dry yeast

1 cup warm water

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon salt

3 cups all purpose (or bread) flour

Steps:

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water
  2. Add oil and sugar, let stand for 5 minutes
  3. Add egg, salt and f;our
  4. Turn the mixture onto a floured surface, hand knead for 3 to 5 minutes
  5. Do not let rise
  6. Divide into the pieces the size you are wanting, 6 to 8 pieces, shape each piece into a ball
  7. Place about 3 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet
  8. let rest for 10 minutes
  9. Bake at 425 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes

The total time for the whole thing is about one hour.  Give it try and see what you think.
